Join Our Open House to Learn More
We’re excited to announce that the TIDAL ArtS Residency Call is officially open! This is your opportunity to be part of a Europe-wide collaboration where art meets science to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the future of our ocean and waters.
TIDAL ArtS will award four Residencies in Portugal, Italy, Finland, and Hungary that come with financial grants of €50,000 each. Applications must be submitted by November 15, 2025.
TIDAL ArtS is a Mission Ocean project funded by Horizon Europe, bringing together artists, scientists, and coastal and inland communities across Europe to explore innovative solutions for water sustainability. Through artist residencies at four dedicated partner sites, we’re creating a space where creative practice will make scientific research accessible. We intend these Residencies to spark conversation and inspire action around ocean and water challenges.
A true legacy project, TIDAL ArtS projects create now to impact later.
Why This Residency Matters
The TIDAL ArtS Residencies offer artists and collectives a unique chance to work directly with research institutions, coastal communities, and marine scientists. You’ll have access to cutting-edge research, fieldwork opportunities, and meaningful collaboration with experts who are tackling water issues from biodiversity to climate adaptation. This is also a significant platform to promote you and your work.
Whether you work in visual arts, performance, sound, installation, or interdisciplinary practice, this Residency is designed to support bold, experimental work that provides a bridge for public interest in science using artistic storytelling and immersive experiences.
